Our principals are recognized leaders in the profession of college counseling. They teach future college admission counselors at UC Berkeley and UCLA. We have over 100 combined years of leadership in every phase of college planning and have worked individually and with high school and college students for over 40 years. We are current on national and regional developments in college admissions, athletics and financing and provide excellent service.
Joe Romano was a two-time captain of the Whittier College lacrosse team. He served the team as an Assistant Coach from 2000-2002 and moved on to Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) to be the Assistant Director of Admission and the founding Head Coach of the men’s lacrosse team. In 2007, Joe accepted the positions of College Counselor and Head Lacrosse Coach at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, CA. During this time, he worked as an Assistant Coach for the National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) San Jose/Washington Stealth as well as for the San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). After a four-year stint as Bellarmine’s Athletic Director, Joe happily moved back to his role as a College Counselor.
Doug Locker has worked with high school and college aged students for over 40 years. As a Director of Admission for five years he was responsible for the application and scholarship processes, as an award winning D III lacrosse coach he was responsible for athletic recruitment and retention, and as the GM of a professional lacrosse team he was responsible for player selection and running over 30 camps for high school students during his years. He has returned to his first love – working with high school students in the transition to college -- and brings his energy, expertise and talents to his work with our students.
Ed Schoenberg has served as a VP for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at four colleges and universities before becoming a college counselor at a large independent school over the past five years, so he’s seen the process and worked with students in preparing for and through the admission and decision process. He holds a College Counseling Certificate from UCLA and is a regular speaker and published author on Admission in the Visual and Performing Arts.
